One common thread found in the majority of the studies linked on our Profiles page, is the favorable result from the use of a fumigant as an abatement technique. The problem with fumigants or "gassers" is they cannot deliver enough gas to the burrow in a short period of time. Due to the slow moving nature of these fumigants, most of the burrowing rodents will simply wall up the burrow to stop the gas, move to another area of the burrow, and return at some point later when the gas has dissipated and reclaim the section it had barricaded. By delivering exhaust via the Crittergetter, you will use the propulsion of your vehicles exhaust system to introduce a considerably higher, faster, and burrow-end reaching volume of deadly carbon monoxide gas that the burrowing critter will neither be able to hide from nor have the time to put up a defensive wall against.
In the research study on gopher control conducted by the University of Nebraska (Profiles page - Gophers) it was determined that engine exhaust was 90% effective in gopher abatement. We replaced standard tubing, most of which melts at a low temperature, with heavy duty heat resistant tubing and increased the recommended time of application from three minutes to ten to fifteen minutes or more. The resulting increase in volume and projection of exhaust into the burrow system removed the problems found with other fumigants, making the Crittergetter much more effective against other types of burrowing rodents with more elaborate or extensive tunnel systems. In short, the Crittergetter will fumigate the entire burrow, not just a tiny section, as other fumigant products will. Your critter will not have the time or anyplace to hide.
