The Crittergetter is easy to use. Simply roll out the hose, insert the applicator into the target tunnel, and connect the hose to your tailpipe. The only additional tools you will need are a standard screwdriver and a small garden trowel (not included).
See the photos below for directions on how to determine the proper diameter Crittergetter hose you will need. Please note that Crittergetter hose does not stretch in diameter - if you have any doubt, order the next larger size. A 2" (5.1 cm) diameter hose will fit a maximum of a 2" (5.1 cm) outside diameter exhaust pipe; a 3" (7.6 cm) diameter hose will fit a maximum of a 3" (7.6 cm) outside diameter exhaust pipe, etc. The Homeowner Crittergetter is available in two sizes: "Up to 3-inch" and "3-inch Plus". Our "Up to 3-inch" model will fit tailpipes up to and including 3 inches in diameter. Our "3-inch Plus" model will fit tailpipes up to 4 inches in diameter and is best suited for tailpipes greater than 3 inches. Do not be concerned with ordering a Crittergetter that is larger than your tailpipe; in the directions you will be shown how to handle this excess.
For your convenience, to the left, you will find a circumference conversion chart to help assist you in the selection of a properly sized Crittergetter if you have an odd shaped tailpipe. Simply measure the distance around your tailpipe and find the range your measurement falls into to determine your Crittergetter options.
When selecting a length for your Original Crittergetter hose, measure the distance from your tailpipe to your farthest potential target area. (For the average person, one large step equals about 3-feet.)
The Homeowner Crittergetter hose may need to be cut to your desired length. If you feel that at some point you may need to reconnect these two sections (or more) of hose please select a coupler(s) of the appropriate size from our Products page.
Note - Attempting to "adapt" any sort of tubing to your vehicle that is dramatically smaller than the factory engineered diameter of your exhaust pipe can be extremely harmful for your catalytic converter, valves, and may result in expensive damage to your vehicle. Please order a Crittergetter of equal or larger diameter than your tailpipe.
For this application a 3" (7.6 cm) Crittergetter should be ordered.
For this application a 2" (5.1 cm) Crittergetter should be ordered.
